Woodland
Pond Homeowners Association
Board of Directors
Meeting July 19,
2010
Call to Order:
President Edd Burleson called the meeting to
order at 7:42 pm
Present: The following Board Members were present:
Edd Burleson, President
Ray Walsh, Vice President
Beth Ferrara, Treasurer
Doug Steinberg, Director
Tim Dineen,
Secretary
Approval of
Minutes: President Edd
Burleson moved to approve the 05/17/2010 Board meeting minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Tim Dineen
moved to approve the Treasurer’s report.
Motion passed unanimously. Cost
estimates have been developed for necessary repairs to the fence on Beach
Road. Paint is peeling from the bottom
up, exposing the bare wood to moisture damage.
Several posts have damage at the ground level that will have to be
repaired also. This can become very expensive if not corrected early on.
Resolution of Complaint re Cutting Down Trees without Permission
WPHA Board met with complainant and sent letter to
homeowner.
Homeowner responded to complaint from the Board and
the matter has been resolved.
Homeowner Survey
Ray reports that there has been some progress
on creating this survey, but there is much more work involved in setting up
such a project before it will be ready to be distributed. The goal is to try to have it ready for the
annual meeting which takes place in November.
Beth Ferrara and Jessica Michael will assist
– they have experience with the process of setting up a survey.
Ongoing Business
Ray Walsh has sent a letter to the developer,
who has expressed an interest in merging Phase I and Phase II to the effect
that we would need several financial statements from the developer and the
representatives of Phase II in order to even begin to address this issue.
New Business
Edd Burleson noted that he has received a complaint
from a homeowner about people letting grass growth get out of control. The
Board will look into the covenant guidelines about grass height and explore
equitable and fair ways to deal with this problem. The Board also agrees to explore the issue of
the effect of lack of uniformity of mailboxes on the overall appearance of the
community.
Edd Burleson asked if anyone knew where the Shoosmith request stands.
A final decision by the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors will be
made at the Supervisors August meeting.
Doug Steinberg noted that while the size of
the deer population is still an issue, now that warmer weather is here the deer
seem to be able to get more of their nutrition from the park. As a result they are doing less damage to
plants such as laurel and rhododendron. There
is a concern however, that the deer herd is overpopulated.
Next Board Meeting: The next regular meeting of the Woodland Pond
Homeowners Association Board of Directors will take place on September 13, 2010
at 7:30 pm at the WPSRC.
Adjournment:
Edd Burleson moved to adjourn the
meeting of the Board of Directors at 9:36 pm.
Motion passed.
